25 juillet 2007

L'Etoile de Martin is delighted that one of its supporters is cycling to raise awareness and sponsorship for the charity

Starting on August 4 James M is attempting to cycle from Lands End to John o'Groats - 880 miles (1,400 km) from southern tip to northern tip of the UK.

Day 1 - Land's End to Exeter 139 miles (223km)

Day 2 - Exeter to Hereford 136 miles (219km)

Day 3 - Hereford to Preston 135 miles (218km)

Day 4 - Preston to Langholm 108 miles (174km)

Day 5 - Langholm to Dunfermline 92 miles (148km)

Day 6 - Dunfermline to Inverness 143 miles (230km)

Day 7 - Inverness to John o'Groats 126 miles (202km)

He is cycling to raise sponsorship for the “bursary project”: raise €30,000 to fund a one-year bursary for a research assistant in the Institut Gustave Roussy paediatric team (IGR).  http://www.igr.fr/?p_lang=en

The IGR is the leading cancer treatment and research centre in Europe and is currently working with centres around the world on a large research programme targeting a specific tumour that affects children under the age of 5.  As well as James' ride, over 100 other friends and family are running the race “La Parisienne” in September to raise money for this project.

Those wishing to donate can send a paypal which allows you to donate directly via credit or debit card (in the subject box, please make sure you make reference to LE2JOG).

Wish him luck!!!!
